Need some ideas? Best Barns™ makes it
easy to customize your barn with optional windows and loft
flooring.
Adding 4 x 8 flooring to each end of your
building makes extra storage space for seasonal decorations
and small boxes. Loft flooring is also great for putting dangerous
items out of the reach of young children.
Ask your retailer for the optional Best Barns™ window and shutter kit. These windows provide excellent
light and ventilation. Sturdy aluminum frame single glazed,
single hung window; white frame with screen, size is 18”
x 27”.
Paint the pre-built wood shutters to create
a handsome accent.
Windows are available through our dealer
network.

are helpful in planning a flawless Best Barns™ barn kit building
project. If you have a problem or question while building
your Best Barn, technical
support is available 7 days a week. Remember to check
local building codes and obtain a permit before you start
building.
General building specs
The exterior siding and roofing material
is supplied by
our dealer giving you a choice of quality and color.
Buildings are generally supplied with vertical groove
siding. Optional vinyl siding may be available, check
with our dealer. If vinyl siding is used, the doors are
designed to be constructed from vertical groove siding.
You can paint the siding to match the vinyl or choose a
complementary color.
After the wall frames are assembled, you will
cut the exterior siding to fit the shape of the wall frames.
A detailed assembly book enables the home owner to erect their
own shed and save hundreds of dollars.
Specific building specs
Wall Frames
Constructed from 2x4 studs spaced 24"
on
center. The 2x4 studs are shipped precut for field assembly.
Roof Trusses
Top rafters are shipped precut and spaced
24" on center. Precut wood gussets are supplied. Note:
for a
16' building length, you will need to cut four 2x4's using
one
of the rafters, supplied in the kit, as a pattern.
Door Frames
Made from 1x3 white pine trim. Door parts
are precut and predrilled, secured together with fasteners
provided. Walk-in entry door, 32" wide, supplied. If
not used,
save and use for replacement parts.
Trim Boards
Pre-cut 1x3 white pine boards are supplied
for door trim and corners. White pine trim boards are graded
#2 & BTR (better). 1x6 fascia and gable trim, dealer supplied.
Hardware
Door latch and hinges supplied in black finish,
all nails, except for floor, and detailed instruction manuals.
